Last week, Rochester High School freshman Bree Benner served as a page in the Washington State Senate. Bree was sponsored by Senator Jeff Wilson (R), District 19. She shared that the best part of the experience was seeing the inner workings of the state legislative process and getting hands-on experience.
We’re proud to celebrate students who take initiative and explore opportunities like this — congratulations, Bree!

Congratulations to Hadley Hughes, Rochester High School senior, on being selected as the Boys & Girls Club of Thurston County Youth of the Year! Hadley delivered a powerful speech tonight in front of hundreds of people and will now advance to the State Youth of the Year Competition. As Thurston County Youth of the Year, she has also earned a one-year, full scholarship to a Washington State college. The Youth of the Year program builds communication, goal-setting, and team-building skills, and Hadley is a shining example of that impact. She’s been part of the Rochester Boys & Girls Club since she was five years old and credits the program for helping build the confidence she carries today. Rochester is proud of you, Hadley. You represent our community with heart, compassion, and leadership.
