Capital Levy

Our district is running a capital levy to replace our aging school water system, which is essential for daily operations. The system currently provides drinking water, restroom and sanitation services, and water for fire protection across all school buildings.

If the system were to fail, RPS, GMES and RHS, would not be able to operate.

The proposed project would create a new reliable water system, ensure adequate water for firefighting, reduce emergency repairs and maintenance costs, and support long-term stability for the district.

The levy is estimated to cost property owners $1 per $1,000 of assessed value and would be collected over two years, in 2027 and 2028. Community members can learn more at our website - Capital Levy | Rochester School District.
